5126 Tomahawk Trl, Madison, WI 53705
Built in 1952
Madison’s historic Sunflower home is on the market. Originally designed and built by its first occupant, architect James Dresser in 1952, this unique monodome is built on a radial framework of curved steel beams, visible in the carport structure. The entire living space of the home surrounded the centrally located kitchen, which sits directly beneath a large central skylight. Originally, the home had one small master bedroom plus two tiny children’s bedrooms, all the walls were cork, and every room was open to the dome except for the bathroom.
